Overview
Losses like the one against Winnipeg really makes me question why I’m even writing these blogs. What was a sign of hope at the end of last year has dwindled into misery. I get that we are only 10 games in, but man, if this continues, there will need to be changes. Some of those goals made me question if this team would even be good in the AHL. I honestly don’t know what they must do to figure things out. At the same time, we did make a little comeback after the quick three goals, that were immediately canceled out by another three goals from the Jets. Our powerplay did go 2/3, which is a positive sign, but we need to start winning games.
Along with the three-game losing streak that the Wings are on, we have also suffered, going 0-3 in our last few picks. Both Raymond and Debrincat were only able to manage one shot on goal, falling short by two for both of them. Falling short once again was the Red Wings’ total goals, as they only managed to get 2. I swear this has happened every single time we have bet this, so I’m definitely staying away from that tonight, especially with the line being over 3.5 goals. Tonight also brings us back to the rivalry we’re building against the Sabres, who dominated us a few Saturdays prior.

Predictions
Tonight brings an opportunity for the Red Wings to show their capabilities. The Sabres are coming off of a tough loss against the Islanders last night, who we dominated. The key to tonight’s success lies in their first-period effort. Last time against the Sabres they let in 2 quick ones, killing any momentum we might’ve needed that night. Both of the Red Wings’ goalies just seem to not want that starting job, so I’m looking for veteran Cam Talbot to show some passion for the Wings. We know what he is capable of, so it is just a matter of executing, and the defense actually showing up for him. Dylan Larkin also needs to blow some smoke up everyone’s asses since the effort just hasn’t been there. For a team that’s as young as they are, we need to see some more speed from them out of the gate. They must win this hockey game if they are going to build some early momentum for the once-hopeful season.
To ride the pressure of the game tonight, we’re going to be riding a parlay and throwing 2 units on it to get back on track. While this is a must-win for the Wings, it is also a must-win for us to stay in the positives for this year. To start off, I’m picking a feel play, as Patrick Kane will play his hometown team. I feel like every time I pick Kane to do something he tends to deliver for me, so I’m looking for him to get a point for the Wings tonight. Along with Kane, I’m riding the Debrincat shots on goal one last time because he had 4 against the Sabres last game, and is due to figure things out. To wrap up the parlay, I desperately need the Red Wings to end their losing streak and secure a win tonight. Throwing 2 units on this will really help us out and get us back on the path to success.
