Recap
This is the first time this year that I feel like our season is over. The worst possible scenario that could’ve happened, happened. I said inn the blog before the last game that whoever won that first game, would win the second, and boy was I right. Veleno kept his scoring streak alive after getting one early in the first. But after that opener from the boys, there wasn’t one positive from that game. As Marcus Foligno said, things could be worse, we could be in the Sabres shoes, but were not doing much better than they are. After these last two games, I’m right back on the fire Lalonde train. I tried to give him a chance as we were gaining a little momentum on the season, but losing those two games to one of the worst teams in hockey is quite embarrassing. They just know how to perfectly draw me in and rip my heart out every time I have faith in them.
This pick had to have been my worst of the year. I guess there was a glimmer of hope after the first goal, but any sign of them winning that game in regulation was nothing more than a fever dream. I truly don’t know how we have managed to stay in the positives on the season with how everything has gone, but I would much rather be down a million units than have to watch this team in the state that they are in.

Prediction
I actually have no clue how the season has gone for the Blues, but it seems like they are just hanging in there. As far as their team stats go, they aren’t good on the powerplay, penalty kill, face-offs, or goals for, which tells me that they just play pretty boring hockey. With the game being at home, I do have a little faith in the Wings, as the home crowd advantage tends to lean our way for us. I have no clue who is going to be in ne, but I don’t think that matters too much. With Ed being out, our defense has taken a massive hit, which has killed our goaltending in the last two games. Minus last night, our offense has improved a ton, so if the Wings are going to get a win before the Christmas break, then they are going to have to score some goals tomorrow.
I’m honestly not really that confident in this pick, but I have to write this blog the day before gameday so there aren’t many betting options better than this one. The Blues really aren’t that threatening of a team so this bet isn’t as much as a longshot as it should be. I am hoping that it is the Blues and not the Red Wings that go into this game ready for the Christmas break. With how the team just played, I don’t really expect this to hit, and I’m starting to lose hope on the season. I’ve put a lot of time and effort into writing these blogs, but it is starting to become draining writing the same things about them. Have a Merry Christmas to everyone who reads these and hopefully the Wings can earn us an early Christmas present.
