Detroit Red Wings vs. Winnipeg Jets 10/30

Overview

Normally, I wouldn’t be too upset with getting a point, but that loss wasn’t great. Edmonton’s a good team, but we dominated them that whole game and to give up that late goal definitely hurt. The goaltending was really solid, but we definitely should’ve got one more in the net for Talbot. We got hot early but didn’t capitalize when we needed to. Unfortunately, the refs haven’t given us too many opportunities to shine on the powerplay, as we only got one on Sunday. Much like the recent game, the Jets are a really solid team, starting at a phenomenal 8-1 record. Tonight will be a tough game but I think the Red Wings can take down these juggernauts.

Unfortunately, we were one Larkin point away from hitting the parlay, so that 1 unit loss drops us down to up 2 units on the season. While I didn’t expect to keep up with the Oilers in shots, I knew that they would put a ton on Talbot. With that said Skinner was able to easily hit his over in shots, with it happening early in the second. The Wings also got 2 quick goals in the game but failed to get the last one needed for the parlay to hit. Tonight I am going to try and stay away from the player points, and ride with what’s hot against a strong team in Winnipeg.

Predictions

I expect a stellar performance from Lyon tonight. I don’t know why, but I have a good feeling he’s going to play well. The Wings need to come out like they did against the Oilers, but this time they put more pucks in the back of the net. With Compher back in the lineup last game, that line played really solid, so expect a repeat performance from them. With the line at +140, clearly, I’m not the only one who has faith in this Red Wings team. While Mo is always Mo, I would love for the other defensemen to get some more points on the board as well. Tonight is going to be a tough matchup, but I expect a barn burner tonight that could very well swing in the Wing's favor.

With my picks tonight, I am going to continue to ride with the Wings to get pucks in the net. Their team total seems to remain at around 3, so I want to keep getting the value there and go on a run with it. All it took was for a back-to-back game to snap the Wings out of their low shots on goal trance, and I’m betting on them to keep that up tonight. Two guys who love to get pucks on the net are Alex Debrincat and Lucas Raymond. Both of their totals are at 2.5, which I feel is a pretty low number for the two of them. Throwing all three of those picks together sets us up to make back what we lost in the last two games, plus a little more.

Parlay

Red Wings TT o2.5

Alex Debrincat o2.5 SOG

Lucas Raymond o2.5 SOG

+475 (1u)
