Recap
Man do we have a lot to talk about in today’s overview. I want to start off by highlighting something that was brought to my attention not too long ago. It is with sad news that one of our quality fans from last season has hopped on another team’s wagon. It is extremely unfortunate for this to happen as I enjoyed getting hype with him when the Wings do well, but unfortunately his heart just wasn’t with the team this year, and that might’ve dragged us down. Alas, we wish him the best, but he won’t be allowed back when the Wings turn things around. Now onto the Bruins game. I mean what the fuck is that no call I overtime. Regardless of whether you can go pixel for pixel and see that it is a 50/50 call, in real time, that call is as obvious as ever. Even my buddy who’s not a Wings fan was apologizing to me immediately after it happened. I was truly left speechless. And the cherry on top being that the no call led to the game winner for the Bruins was sickening. The Wings and Husso actually looked solid too, and I thought we were going to take it in OT when Larkin went coast-to-coast, but unfortunately the post was Korpisalo’s best friend. It’s another game, where we had a lead going into the third, but a late penalty just keeps the other team in it. We must be better at not taking so many penalties, or at the very least, kill off some powerplays.
Tuesday was also a clean wash for the picks. With Raymond tucking 2 goals, he easily hit his over in shots, but unfortunately, even with his OT winner, Zacha came short of his total by one shot on goal. With chances limited in that game, Larkin came sooo close to getting his anytime goal late in overtime where he created a breakaway for himself, but hit the post on a nice backhand move. With 2 of the 3 picks missing, we also missed our parlay, but thankfully we only had half a unit on that one, so we walked away down 0.1 units. We’ve cooled off a little bit with our picks, but I’m as confident as ever that we’ll be better.

Prediction
With back to back losses in overtime and a one goal loss prior, it’s do or die for the Wings. Now that we are finally unified, a big game against a team we hate dearly, presents us the chance to do something special. Kane has finally been cleared to return to the team, which is tremendous news for the powerplay that has missed him dearly. We have had so many opportunities these last few games, but boy have we missed him. Husso actually looked pretty solid last game too, with the OT loss not being on him whatsoever. Johan is back in the lineup as well, so I have high hopes for this team tonight. The last time we played the Sens was last season, so I’m excited for this opener. We know this is going to be a physical game, as they are always headhunting for Larkin, but this team is resilient. As long as they play good hockey and do not stoop down to the Sens level, they will massacre this mid squad. Debrincat loves going against his former squad, so I expect him to net one tonight, maybe on the powerplay too. I got all my eggs in one basket with the team, so I really hope they don’t let me down tonight. The beers will be flowing and hopefully the team will be too with Kaner back in action.
My pick tonight is going to be the simplest one that I have had yet. I’m sick of hitting ½ picks or missing completely from overanalyzing things. So with the deadweight finally off our team, tonight’s super max pick is going to be 5 units on the Detroit Red Wings moneyline. With the season in jeopardy and facing a division rival, the Wings must win this game. As a little bonus, since the Lions are on tonight, I will also be doing a City of Detroit parlay with 2 units on that.
Pick
Detroit Red Wings ML +145 (5u)
Red Wings/Lions ML +285 (2u)
